For a Silicon Valley family's woodland retreat—sans the rustic implications of a cabin in the woods—architect Cynthia Wang and designer Jamie Bush conjured a completely new take on the country house that brings urban cool to Sierra, Nevada. The minimally-decorated bedrooms feature built-in wooden closets and a desk to keep from eating into the floorspace with hefty furnishings.
There's a certain ethereal feel to attics because of the unique architectural lines. If you have an a-frame or sloped ceiling, embrace that dreamy vibe with romantic materials and light colors. The way the light pours into this room is just divine—we'd never want to leave this little cocoon. Decorate with loose linens, a netted pendant light, and a vintage area rug for a pop of color.
Hello, you asked for the color of paint that is used on on the bedroom walls with the bedding thats gray & yellow. I loved that color also but didn’t know the name of it. So I printed that photo out & brought it into “Home Depo” where they was able to mix some paints togeather to get that exzact color in the photo. I painted my bedroom with it & it looks GRATE & right on to the color in that photo.

A bedroom should look cozy and simple, sophisticated, and elegant, regardless of what style of decorating you choose. For ease of movement, leave a minimum of three feet between the bed and side walls or large pieces of furniture and at least two feet between the bed and low furniture, like tables and dressers. If you have to walk around the bed to get from the closet to the bathroom, think of how you can move the bed.
You should have as many family photos as you wish in other rooms in the house, but it's best to keep the bedroom's artwork less emotionally loaded. Elegant photographs add some character to your space without reminding you of specific people while you're trying to fall asleep. All of the photographs pictured in this Upper West Side bedroom are by Marsha Lebedev Bernstein.

There is no need for a traditional end table when you have tree stump you can paint half white. The small wing chair on the right may not seem like a typical choice for a rustic bedroom, and that's the point. It lends sophistication while providing a practical purpose.
